1 <Why would someone not be interested in CS> Spock

2 <Why are small investers, interested in CS> John

ANS: 1 - CS is not going up, the upward story is not there right now,
but it may be oversold a few points.

Those in the 'know' are investing in stocks that are moving up, and the pro-analysts know a lot more about a company than the average investor. We on SI are sharing information to improve the
chances of being right. But it remains difficult to pick winners.

ANS: 2 - Because the downside surprise is pretty much gone. Small investors like myself hate 50% downdrafts in heavily traded stocks, and are inclined to go after two or three point table scraps. I continue my search for the 'winning' new tech stock while trying for these low gain/pain/risk trades.

We should all have bought Compac and Dell last January and forgot about the market, but we thought we could make money the hard way.

And we were right, it is hard!!!!!

I'm thinking of getting a decision support system for my birthday.

John

Hello Spock, the stuff below is friendly talk :-)

Who cares if nobody is interested in CS? You should care how many switches they are selling and how much money they are making for you.

Everything else is irrelevant. If the price drops to $1 and they
are still making good money, would you worry why nobody is interested?
Or would you be buying as much CS as possible?

I mean, there's gotta be a value of CS to society. A lot of critical
networks (like DOD) have CS equipment. Today I was reading the December issue of Signal and there it was a full page ad of Cabletron.
They were talking about scalability and upgradability with MMAC+ These things are important for the big accounts like Airforce, Navy etc.

Have fun,
-KG
ps. taking my Cobra and going racing tomorrow all day (Summit Point in VA).
