That's an absolutely cynical view. It's a view held by republican leaders as well. During a speech to the Republican State Committee's summer meeting in Hershey on Saturday, Rep. Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny, ticked off what he said were the GOP's achievements during its nearly two years in control of the General Assembly and the governor's office. "Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine. It's done," said Turzai, whose remarks were captured on video and posted to the video-sharing site YouTube. "First pro-life legislation — abortion facility regulations — in 22 years. Done. Voter ID, which is going to allow Gov. Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania. Done." It could be that we just think it is ridiculous to not protect something so precious as voting rights. Yeah...Voter ID laws, early vote restrictions...all aimed at disenfranchising dems in greater numbers..protecting voting rights you say? I have heard you say that some people are not smart enough to vote...how does that fit in with protecting voting rights? Al
