Several items came out today that I think speak well for Intel's future and current strategy. 1) AMAT announced semi equipment for copper usage in processors. Cu process was developed by IBM, AMAT is the first to market.... biz.yahoo.com 2) TI announced Research breakthrough that offers gigahertz operating speeds. Combination of copper wiring with ultra low-k dielectric insulating layer offers 10 times current best operating speed with reduced power and improved reliability. biz.yahoo.com New technology will create opportunities and profits for those companies that can use it well. Companies wanting to participate must have the $$$ to fund the research and purchase the new equipment. This could be hard for AMD if they can't make a profit. Intel price cuts may be sacrificing some current profit, but I think they are cementing their long term success in the process. Those gloating about cheap PC's from AMD better get their licks in while they can. Lee
