I hate it too but after you are here a long time you can't survive without it. I have grown to hate the intense tropical sun as well and I've always been a beach person.. It is not healthy long term. I was in DC a few weeks ago would spent most of the day outside enjoying the sunshine in comfortable 50 degree weather didn't even burn. Down here I try limit it to 15-20 minutes a day max between 10am-4pm most of the year or end up like a lobster or with skin cancer. Seattle looking better and better..
