I live in Houston, Texas. Just talk to a friend who worked
at Compaq tonight. He mentioned that about 2 weeks ago,
a team of Compaq people including finance went to
Alameda, California to visit Ascend.

If true, it is possible that this could have been a "due diligence" team (the buyer conducts a thorough review of the seller's financials and operations before a deal is inked, called "due diligence").

I own both LU and CSCO. I have had confidence in both holdings, however, I agree with you that if LU gets ASND, the stock will take a hit. Considering what happened to COMS/USRX and ASND/CSCC, if history repeats itself, it's gonna be a rocky road....BTW, I too like SAPHY, but currently do not own. LU may be a profit taking candidate. bp

Right, sure, ahem!!!! Sorry Sal, you aren't getting it are you. Who's controlling or will control the Internet? INTC and MFST?? OR is GTE, AT&T, Sprint, and Worldcom the ones controlling things. OF those listed listed, who do you think they trust resolving the latency issue confronnting the Internet, LU or CSCO?? You don't understand the difference between actual solution to problems and excuses and finger pointing, which is MSFT and CSCO forte.
