To me, the most significant part of yesterday's announcement was the following:

Recognizing the immediate market opportunity for Voodoo 2, the Company accelerated the development and commercialization of Voodoo 2 thereby pushing back the commercial availability of its integrated 2D/3D solution, Banshee, by one quarter.

Banshee will allow 3DFX to be designed into major OEM boxes. It could replace the majority of S3, ATI, Matrox, Number Nine, and Nvidia cards; but, it can't be a one trick pony -- it has to do 2D better than others, as well. If 3DFX can do for 2D what they did for 3D, and wrap it all into one chipset, they'll need a lot more wafer starts.

Anyone know the projected Banshee release date?

Pravin.
