roger's reasoning may be what the market players believe and if enough believe, then market reacts the way it does, drops

but the reasoning, when dissected, may be suspect, because

(i) india hiking tax on gold import would simply encourage smuggling that would offset demand downward pressure

(ii) cyprus 10 tonnes would be over in a matter of minutes

although folks may be fearful of italian / spanish sales, even as each oz sold has at least one obvious buyer w/i greater china (mainland, hkg, macao and taiwan)

(iii) chart analysis - selling begets selling - could be, but if so, irrational, as ag, pt and pd gets thrown out w/ bath water

(iv) bit coin - how big was that bubble and exactly how much was exchanged at the needling peak? how many folks were actually wounded? cannot be that many.

so, no, i fear something else is at action, and that something else shall be evident soon enough.

am holding off my re-entry into silver arena, but may switch to platinum targeting instead, that which is more sure than silver and more useful than gold.

hello 2mar$, today's report

(i) just acquired enough gold (1/3) of ultimate 'add' to move the dial, at ~us$ 1,363 per oz but in tael units (hkd 12,727 per tael)

(ii) was at home office, and given cyber discussion re availability of gold in dubai, tulvin, etc, i decided to dispatch office girl to hang seng bank hq in cbd hong kong to engage w/ one 1-oz gold coin, and report back to me and via me to the boyz on the state of queue at hang seng bank hq

(ii-a) would say the report indicates more than the usual activity level, meaning the buying is perhaps at 5-10x usual pace.

(ii-b) that metal trading banking queue also does forex cash swapping, and normally the queue would be comprised almost entirely of forex customers.

(ii-c) in truth the only time i have ever ran into another gold buyer in that queue was between 2008 10 and 2009 03 when lehman fell.

(ii-d) so the young lady running into 5-6 purchasers of gold during the time it took her to wait out 20 customers in the queue is less than usual.

(ii-e) see below real-time mission report via whatsapp messaging:

Subject: Re: Comments - Week of April 15 - beijing stores out of gold

a moment of silent reflection, comrades

today we are told by the wastrels at bloomberg and the waste products at cnbc that gold tanked because china economy is growing at 7.99% as opposed to 8.01%

just now i saw on cctv news report re beijing gold stores had been mobbed starting this past saturday w/ folks buying gold, and

the stores are mobbed today in the am and are out of gold

one fair-sized store reported selling rmb 6odd million at opening time and ran out of inventory, w/ would-be customers leaving buy-orders to fill

the largest single customer took in ~rmb 1m of precious goodness

recommendation: getgold, humanely if possible, but getgold at all cost
