You were wrong before and you are wrong now, but you're too damn stubborn to admit it. You were full of shit then and I see nothing has changed. You claimed that the mistreatment of dogs in Korea was largely an older generation issue and that Koreans of your generation feel much the same way Americans feel about their pets. I spoke to my sister again and asked her if the the Koreans that turn their jindos in to the Animal Shelter were largely elderly (60s+). She said absolutely not. Most were in their 30s or 40s (that's your generation) and she thought them to be first generation in the US. So the ASTOUNDING statistic remains..... 18 out of the last 20 jindos abandoned to the Animal Shelter had to be euthanized because they were not adoptable due to severe behavioral issues. No other breed (even pit bulls) or nationality comes any where near those shameful statistics. Their owners are generally younger (first generation in the US) immigrants. I simply don't see how there is not the same problem in Korea. Here's another little incident you might be interested in. They run a free rabies clinic 6 times a year at the Animal Shelter in the evening. Since you save the $ for a vet visit and for the rabies shots, it's worth maybe $60-$70. It usually brings out over a hundred people including some nut jobs. Because of the traffic and such, they have an off duty county cop on hand to direct traffic and keep order if necessary. The owners bring their dogs into a large room, fill out some paper work and then wait to be called into the adjoining room for the dogs to get their shots from the vet. The dogs would then exit thru the back door. My sister noticed a Koren gentleman walking thru the parking lot with his jindo approaching the entrance. The dog was exhibiting EXTREME aggressive behavior to any male dog he came close to. Witnessing this, my sister intercepted this man prior to entering the waiting room. She told him she had witnessed his dog's aggressive behavior and suggested he leave his dog in his car and simply go in and fill out the paperwork. Upon his turn, they would send him back out to get his dog and have him bring the dog in via the back exit of the room where the shots were given. This way, his dog would not come in contact with any of the other dogs. This man simply said No....No....No problem.....No problem. My sister asked him again with the same reply......No.....No problem. He basically ignored her and proceeded into the waiting room. In less than 10 minutes, my sister heard a loud commotion (screaming) from the waiting room. It seems the jindo had taken a large bite out of a little shitsu and would have killed him. The vet had to suspend giving the shots to stabilize the dog and have him sent immediately to an animal hospital. Meanwhile, my sister went out to the parking lot and got the off duty county cop. Upon returning she confronted the man and told him..... Yes ....there now IS a problem.......and let the cop handle the rest. She understands he will be sued by the owner of the shitsu since there were signs posted regarding how aggressive dogs should be handled at the entrance. So now my sister not only thinks Koreans mistreat their dogs.......she thinks Korean men have a problem with women telling them what to do. She's dead on regarding the first, may be right on the second , and I don't give a rat's ass what YOU think.
