Agreed, this is getting absurd on AAPL.

The news vacuum from corporate + Samsung noise + supply chain rumors have ruffled the growth guys, and the impending S&P index shifts + large component of AAPL in US indices has ruffled the technical / macro trade guys.

Nothing is broken about the story in my view -- Apple is still the luxury brand for consumer devices around the world, Apple has many more consumer product ideas up its sleeves, and the stock is going to trade for 4.0x FCF ex-cash by January 2015. That's just simply too cheap... This is NOT Blackberry, which is what so many have in their rear-view mirrors.

Too many people can't stand the mark-to-market pain, which is exactly why value investing works.
