If as you say (and I concur) that QE is unlikely to continue, because of it's lack of positive impact (except on speculative assets), then that suggests deflation..

And gold isn't very effective in a deflationary environment.. It's an inflation hedge..

Cash is the only deflationary safe haven.. Because people will wait to buy something until it gets cheaper.. and that becomes a vicious cycle.. as the Japanese have discovered..

Maybe the Indian people will believe differently, but their love of Gold is strongly cultural.. not so much economic..
