HI TJ, that is a red hot smoking gun...... where Volker acknolwed that ""'That day the United States announced that the dollar would be devalued by 10 percent. By switching the yen to a floating exchange rate, the Japanese currency appreciated, and a sufficient realignment in exchange rates was realized. Joint intervention in gold sales to prevent a steep rise in the price of gold, however, was not undertaken. That was a mistake.' ( http://www.gata.org/node/8209.)

for Volker to acknowledge that hee central banks should have manipulated the price of gold is a major admission by a guy who has the most credibility of any FED chairman going back at least to Burns.......

I am pleased that we have organizations like GATA to try to keep some of these Central Bankers..... from being totally corrupt.

thanks for pointing that out to me...... it's early down here in Houston and I am multi tasking.... but that is a really really exceptional piece of journalism.

thanks for posting it....... I suspect that I shall have an additional though or two as the tail end of the workweek unfolds..

many thanks,

John

explanations for the biggest drop in more than 30 years

The information has to percolate through the whole economic system.

By the way, money is information on the move

As information moves through the whole economic system, misinformation is added to it. This is done deliberately by people who slant the true for their own gains.

After it percolates, it has to be filtered out all the misinformation added along the way.

Stripped out of all misinformation, it becomes true once again. (I am sounding like dvdw here).

Gold is not exempted from this rule:

Once true became apparent, it dropped. Because it was riding on a wave of disinformaton.

The gold that one have is still the same gold material. Only the information premium on it was stripped out.
