Yup, which is why it trades for 4.0x forward FCF.

Every casual investor has it so ingrained in their minds that cellphones / smartphones go through bubble phases... Motorola RAZR... Palm Pre... Blackberry... "Apple? Of course!" they say.

Then you have a whole nother set of casual investors who have the Microsoft/Intel case study in their minds from the 1980's. "Open always wins" goes the mantra.

Well, while people have memorized the memes, they've been too casual and ignored an understanding for *why* these evolutions came about.

Anyway, I can't persuade anyone that AAPL isn't a "fad" without spending 3 hours typing up an essay about why the hardware / software / carrier phone sale cycle drove each of the about catastrophic developments for the losers. Instead, just read YCombinator's comments on the last 2 VIC postings for AAPL.
