Thanks Pat, Ray, Pigboy, Schmedley, Sung, Charlie, Eric, et al.,

Yes, the new peanut makes this roller coaster ride worth while. My wife is doing fine after arriving to the hospital 'complete' (10cm), pushing 3-4 times, and delivering within 25 minutes of arrival. It's going to be hard to beat that, if there is a next one. Of course, if Motorola would wake up and offer $25, maybe I could afford college for number 3 and 4 ;^).

Schmedley, it appears, from the TI experience, the bidding process is complicated in Delaware. Amati has to keep TI informed of other suitors, and there is much behind the scenes negotiating at that point, from what I have gathered. I can only hope some of this is going on now, though my hopes dwindle with each passing day. I have always believed what Steve Green posted in #29613 about the growing irrelevance of CPU speed upgrades as bandwidth upgrades become more available. Companies like Motorola should appreciate the future value of Amati's IP and brain power is beyond $25/share, IMHO. I still think it's possible, but I am a die-hard.

Sung, your post 10 days ago inspired mine. I hope things are going well. My daughter has certainly changed my life like nothing else.

Ray, while I was not up *all* night, I got a couple of strange looks while walking my dog on Nob Hill at 4 AM <G>, in anticipation of being at the hospital the rest of the day.

Night all,

Richard
