Why surging tomato prices never cause a US headache.

The US citizen is not aware of food inflation nor is he of energy inflation.

That because inflation in the US does not include food or energy in its calculation.

The value (purchasing power) of the USD drops but you are not aware.

In Brazil if the BRL cannot buy the same amount of tomatoes, it is displayed clearly for the citizen to see it.

In the US CPI is a tool to pull the wool over the eyes of the wage earner and the Social Security recipient.

Why the tomatoes peaked at price more than in Alaska.

Tighten job market, cost of land and transport.

Brazil is becoming richer and still have poor country legacy.
