Hi, Ray ... Good call on CREAF.

Regarding the stocks you mentioned last night... took another look this morning. Was torn between CEON and SYQT ...
Went with SYQT @ 3/8. (Also, put in a small buy on CREAF but didn't get filled).

Thanks for your help (and for adding "tower bottom" to my TA vocabulary)...

Carol

Hi Ray,
Thanks for your input. Regarding Rainiers suggestion about A Triangles < that a good way to play these is to place a buy limit order at or near the Apex of the Triangle to catch it on the way up as it breaks out. > . . . .is a prudent approach to this manner of pattern.

Another is to buy AFTER the BREAKOUT and during the PULL BACK, to what WAS the RESISTANCE and now IS the SUPPORT.

A VALID breakout would be 3% or more.
The PULLBACK may or may not touch the SUPPORT before it resumes its previous direction. Generally, PULLBACKs are dependable and are to be anticipated. This would be easy to check.

The same strategy would be considered as appropriate for other patterns such as Descending Triangles.

Needless to say, it would be judicious to place a protective STOP when a BUY is made.

Best Wishes,
Eakole

[ Ascending Triangle matters and VSVR]

"...a good way to play these is to place a buy limit order at or near the Apex of the Triangle to catch it on the way up as it breaks out."

It's a component of the risk management side of trading. The situation here is analogous to the results from rigorous back tests that showed how your reward/risk ratios improved dramatically when making an entry above a closing point after your buy criteria were reached.(Did you get that?)

Also, VSVR is sitting above breakout levels for the Ascending Triangle. The Upper Boundary was at 15 1/2, and is currently sitting above it as I type this. Just hope it closes here.

Regards,

Rainier
