Not surprisingly, the stereotyping continues on the right. From one of our favorite RW folks: If they are [from Turkey], I am not surprised. Turkey has gone the Islamist route, it is a Sunni country with lots of Salafi. I know that if I had been able to get a conversation going about banning Muslims, people would wanted to have let Turks in because they are not Arab. What that objection misses is that this is a RELIGIOUS war, not just an ethnic one. Terrorists can be recruited from any Sunni Salafi group. They can be recruited from any Muslim group, for that matter. It's just easier among the Sunni Salafi's. "All Muslims" are suspect. Did they say that all Christians are suspect when McVeigh or any other Christian did crazy violent acts? The "war" isn't between Islam and the West. The war is between crazy people who lack a conscience and a sense of humanity and who would rather feed their ego by killing or maiming other people rather than try to build something decent and live sustainably.
