It is a very sad development and the blame should not be only on the two brothers, the society around them is also to blame, and the failure to assist and to properly integrate is IMHO the reason of the outburst of anger and frustration.

Islam is a side show IMHO, being unable to be accepted and loved within the society is the main reason of frustration and easy slide from there into Islam as a devout believer and extremist.

We should better ask ourselves where were the social workers of the community, where were the educators and teachers at school, why no one tried harder to bring those tormented highly capable youngsters (after all they received scholarships) into our society to feel attached loved and included.

no one will hurt his own people if he feels accepted integrated and loved!!

the outburst of anger as a result of deep frustration and helplessness is similar to the explosion of a pressure cooker - all is normal until explosion

instead of having an army of swat teams from police and FBI to deal with the aftermath of a tragedy our country should learn that care for the young and adolescent within the growing up generation is more important than sophisticated military hardware and wasteful Pentagon budgets.

Boston should be a wake up call for a nation that needs to re-prioritize its social order restrict financial abuses like very excessive corporate pay without true responsibilities for mistakes or misbehavior (aka JPM), and also pay more attention to the individual and not be so obsessed with money, WS and unjustified enrichment of few that at the other end where is too little generates resentment and anger.
