kidl,

I hope that you only had 100 shares of AAPL.
I’ve only owed AAPL shares twice and managed to do pretty well each time.
But I’ve never shorted it – lacked the guts. That says a lot for AAP because
you know that I love shorting.

As for chat sites, I no longer participate on any trading forums.

But about six years ago, I was looking to gather some information about
mutual funds for my classes and found a site that I still drop in on and
occasionally post a few thoughts.

These folks know that I don’t own any MFs and never have, and yet most
of them put up with me.

mutualfundobserver.com

And yes, I did learn some things about MFs – and still think that they
are for the most part truly dumb investment instruments.
But then, most, if not all, of these people have 401(k)s or IRAs and
do not trade the market.
These are some good folks at this site, although they distrust
technical analysis (that’s putting it mildly, since a few still believe that it’s BS),
so I tread lightly.

Have a great weekend!
