Dow Jones newswire reported $1.45 for FY98. The mean of the distribution of estimates for FY98 for analysts who cover ASND is around $1.24. The mode, however, is substantially higher -- this is partly due to one analyst who is estimating earnings to be $0.40 for FY98 -- highly skewing the distribution.

<<Michael Ashby ASND's CFO stated that they are comfortable with $1.05
for FY97 and $1.45 for FY98.
According to the CNBC piece, Ashby is comfortable with 1.15 for 98. Anyone know
which is correct?>>

The $1.45 comes from a Dow Jones article I posted yesterday afternoon.
It is probably a typo, as $1.15 is what was stated previously.

However, $1.45 is probably going to turn out to be close to what they
will actually do in 1998. They are being VERY conservative right now.

It looks like the 1.45 number is a typo...1.15 is consistent with guidance over the past several weeks. Even though as conditions improve, I fully expect that number to rise towards 1.30, perhaps.
