When ancient Rome was being over-run by Christians rather than fight a losing battle she decided to join them, organize them and then control them. The new invention included some old books from the Middle East with some additions and lots of omissions organized in to one Holy Bible that dumb dumbs like Greg Almighty worship as the inspired word of God. She also invented a few things like original sin. This has been a very successful relationship, let them be their pagan selves, make them feel little, guilty and small, run to confession and for thousands of years and millions of stipends very rewarding for the administrators.

To this day if you asked Greg Almighty what his denomination is he would say Protestant, which shows how successful the Catholic church has been. No one is satisfied being a good old Christian anymore.

Just look at how Greg Almighty reacts to a competing Protestant Northrop Frye and the United Church. You would think he is the Pope of the Catholic Church!
