Ritholz has his "moments", and apparently gold schadenfreude is part of them too.

He posted the chart below earlier this week, with the obvious (intentional or not) spin. The black line is mine, which matches the straight line on the Dow bull... but what was published was the very tight trend following gold bull red line.

I wouldn't have even brought it up if he'd requested one from chart of the day with the same tight trend following line on the gold 70s bull to show a similar correction in 1975-6.

Tacky... at the very best, especially since he pounds on cognitive dissonance quite frequently.
