No sane people want a revolution. History shows that the vast majority of revolutions are Leftists trying to illegitimately empower themselves, when they are actually incompetent at governing, and use their power to enrich themselves and their minions that go along at the expense of hard working people. That's generally called armed robbery.

There are no instant checks. It takes about 10 minutes. A NICS background check isn't allowed by law to be collected and registered. That's what the law says. Some believe that Clinton violated the law and did just that. When an FFL closes shop all their records are sent to the BATFE. They aren't allowed to compile it electronically into a registration record by law. Many don't believe them. I bet they do electronically enter all the records with names, addresses, social security numbers, weapon manufacturer, serial number and separate it to get around the law, but have the ability to readily convert the data into a registry within an hour.
