That was a statement he made after his resurrection.

Again the label of distinction attempted to be superimposed of Judeo/Christian values doesn't even come close to the real picture which is a continuum across cultures which has always has as its center the contemplation of human thought & action. If there is one great miracle happening in Christianity it starts with that rediscovery & study of classical literature & body of philosophical contemplations which absolutely expanded the range of thought secular & religious like the Big Bang did the Universe or the Cambrian explosion did for the varieties of species.

Its also nice to have clean water to bath in & good food to eat, have always considered this one of the great sacraments of life, to have a good shower & pure water to drink. There's absolutely no monopoly on prayer or meditation that makes them the exclusionary provence of religion or non secular either, they are natural tendencies common to all men. Christianity developes & expands itself by some large leaps & bounds in the 15th & 16th centuries for the very good reasons that the classical reading were once again allowed & encouraged & debated.

Human thought in action, realizing great human intellectual & creative potential, what we call advanced civilization has always been a developing cultural continuum just as we see happening in evolution.

Unless you mean that they lived ON after Jesus' death and resurrection several decades, okay. But no, they all overlapped with Jesus' life.

If Alastair thinks the Essenes or Theraputae invented a Jesus myth and Jesus wasn't an historic figure he's an undereducated idiot.
