Can ASND gap up without news? NEWS? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN NEWS! Isn't the option volume good enough news? Jeff Briefings yesterday: 15:00 -- 16:00 ET (Updated throughout the hour)****** Ascend Communications (ASND) 26 5/8 +3: shares of networking access products concern spike upwards on takeover rumors; possible candidates are given as Lucent Technologies (LU 78 3/4 +7/16) and Northern Telecomm (NT 94 3/16 +11/16); however, this is just a rumor..... Ascend rallied nicely on further takeover rumors... Looks like aggressive bargain hunters are getting a jump start on expected early January rebound... Again, stock has a ways to go before repairing technical damage from sharp sell-off.
