Yes - doubt with a little "d". I could conceive of a kabuki theater staged for my edification in which I'm completely oblivious as a player. It seems excessively complicated, egocentric and ornate to imagine such a complex system but my inability to imagine doesn't prohibit it. Is it a paralyzing doubt? No - I'm quite fine with that kind of doubt -- it is a state of possibilities. I will wax philosophically about what may be, but I'm not changing my life based upon speculative conjectures. I believe the market will go down, but I have short and long positions. See how that works? We all live with cognitive dissonance.
