"Libbers like Brumar and Greg Almighty are in good company and stand shoulder to shoulder with X the Unknown, Baker, Metacomet, Winny and Koan".

"Liberals" and "Conservatives" are both very stupid when it is an ideology. I try to take the best and leave the worst, and for that I am responsible.

I don't know all the people you mentioned. But Koan seems ok to me. He thinks what he thinks and he does little or no harm. (And he plays poker for stakes which gives him some claim to an intellect!) Likewise for X. She gets a bit too self-righteous and smug--but I believe she is good.

Baker (however) is (Clearly) a control freak. So let us hope he is not Gay--for Eeek's sake!

"They do not want to own your fortune, they want you to lose it; they do not want to succeed, they want you to fail; they do not want to live, they want you to die; they desire nothing, they hate existence, and they keep running, each trying not to learn that the object of his hatred is himself . . . . They are the essence of evil, they, those anti-living objects who seek, by devouring the world, to fill the selfless zero of their soul. It is not your wealth that they’re after. Theirs is a conspiracy against the mind, which means: against life and man."

I remember how her brother tried to give himself importance by using that young girl. Some of the most poignant parts of the novel. If I did not cry--I should have. I am not ashamed of being homo sapiens.

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

Thumbs up! Explains Eeek and many others!!
