Visited AMES Natick yesterday, the whole strip mall was filled except 2 parking spaces waiting for me in front of AMES. Now hiring the AMES banner says. AMES employees have not been helping customers to load their cars with AMES purchases yet. That was one improvement Safeway thinks is how they turned around to 3% profit on revenue. Merchandises were all stocked and depleted some what. We can see that as merchadises went out the door; the new merchandises will have to be more upscale. Current price structure has no resistance from the customers. AMES' gross margin has been improving. Hope the rest of this season will go as well. We will be looking in more often.
