Thanks Your contributions to the discussion (little as it may be) will always be welcome here and I hope you will reconsider your decision to withdraw. Your analysis of the distinctly unscientific, unreasonable and vitriolic nature of the self identified "progressives" on this thread is bang on. I still think it's worthwhile challenging them on their ideas, because in doing so they reveal themselves and their ideas for who and what they are: shallow people with shallow ideas, who's only recourse for their shallowness is screaming at the top of their lungs till anyone who disagrees with them is intimidated into silence. Stick around.We could use another voice of reason around here.

I have done thought experiments and have seen the planet in its ellipse traveling around the Sun in my mind , one gets a vivid sense of this esp when up in Alaska when the days grow much longer & sets near midnight. I have felt both the wrath of the Sun, its warmth and the dipping freezing temps in the desert when it disappears into night. Then the glorious return as it returns to glow first pale yellow then warmly orange & lights up the walls of the Grand Canyon or the more relatively young beautiful plutonic igneous rock faces of the huge thrust up monoliths Half Dome of Yosemite Nat'l Park. These were formed deep in the earth as long as 130mil yrs ago and one only senses when standing on their hard smoothed weathered surfaces , rounded by millions of yrs of rains & winds as they pushed up from underneath the earth. then there are the Sequoia & Bristlecone Pines there, the world's oldest living trees/organisms. We launched Voyager II Aug 20 1977,it has been operating & sending back data thru the Deep Space Network for the last 35yrs using the alligment of the planets a technique called gravity assist making possible a fly-by of the great gas giant Jupiter. Since then out at a distance of 101.34 AU or 15 billion 160 million kilometers from Earth flying as close to 350k mis to Jupiter the great Red Spot was discovered to be a massive storm into which you could fit 4-5 earth sized planets . And on the Jovian moon ,Lo, between the two Voyagers nine volcano eruptions were observed., the most surprising find of those missions perhaps, the first time volcanic activity was observed on another body otside our own in the solar system . How old & how long ago do you think this all formed? How old & how long ago did the Sun first ignite? How long just to accummulate the mass & density to start that first fusion process rolling & first light?

Recently discovered find in African cave demonstrates the oldest discovery to date of our ancestors domesticating fire about 1mil yrs ago, what changes that must have brought about? ( Control of fire leads much later to the mining activity & metallurgy of the Copper, Bronze & Iron ages , pottery and also the making of glass beads for ornaments, the birth of science & religion simultaneously) Have never had the problem accepting evolution just obseserving our closest relatives on the evolutionary tree's behavior, the chimpanzee or the great apes. Even without the fossil record or shared dna's it always seemed something apparent to me we we're just sharing so much so similarly when one looks at the more primitive tribal behaviors. Since we can so categorize truth into its simplest ideas , both metaphorically & materially speaking in every case, we find the first worship of all early man centered on fire & the Sun, naturally. Whether materialist or spirtualist most all get the meaning of fire & light, it is this manifestation of nature for the metaphor from which we find the heart of all spirituality and seen as the highest manifestation of the the divine presence . From Let There Be Light of Genesis to Moses request to be shown more "Glory" upon the mountain, the burning bushes to the statement of John that "God is Light" & Light of Undertanding. what other single image carries as much religious weight as this ? * Personally having experienced the Northern Lights, the sunsets of Hawaii or the dawn in Yosemite the South Western Deserts can understand Moses' request to be shown more glory but think even God must have thought to hmself, old man just look around you the light is everywhere just open your eyes! Where new stars are being born a few million years ago, some have already ignited & burned out by the time this light reached us.

The SPY had pretty clear R of the 200ma running right over head like a steel cable on the 60min chart , looks like short there good.
