At approximately 8:10 a.m., CNBC's Joe Kernan and Mark Haines pooh-poohed LU takeover rumor. Said that it is an old rumor. Indicated that Wall Street traders are skeptical. Although they did say Marie Barthoroma had sources which were positive on the story. (As I was typing this Maria came on and said nothing about the ASND stpry, which she broke yesterday). Joe and Mark mentioned that LU CEO was on recently and specifically stated that LU was precluded from doing any big deals (i.e., pooling of interests). Sorry if this is old news. I type so slowly.
