Yep, the Krugman or blinder enabled or ideologically bound got it wrong in the sense that debt really does matter... and it's only one factor too.
Krugman's moralgasms were so loud that for anyone who knows PR games, it was almost a guarantee that he was hiding the HAP facts.

The FED and Japan are printing fiat money with abandon so it seems it works somehow, I think the point is if you print and also own the presses that is OK to have a lot of debt as long as people trust you to grow out of it.

Different story is you are for example on a gold standard or USD standard.
