Homeland Security Chief Threatens Terror Attacks if Budget Cuts Go Through
February 27, 2013

Infowars

Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano issued veiled threats, claiming that automatic budget cuts, known as sequestration, could trigger new terror attacks by reducing operations funds and delaying processing times ahead of March 1, when cuts begin.

The Secretary further warned that “the U.S. Border Patrol will be forced to furlough agents, costing nearly a quarter of the workforce,” while the White House threatened that illegal immigrants could flood the borders as a result (as they hypocritically mull a costly amnesty).

The intent of Napolitano’s speech to intimidate budget cuts with the threat of new attacks was clear, despite her claims to the contrary.

“I’m not here to scare people; I’m here to inform and let people begin to plan,” Napolitano stated. “I don’t think we can maintain the same level of security at all places around the country with sequester compared to without sequester.”

In a statement warning against cuts, Napolitano rattled off a laundry list of agencies that she claimed would be affected by sequestration, including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs & Border Protection, along with a vast array of other “security” functions the bloated agency oversees. As Adan Salazar noted, many Americans are in favor of cutting funds to the TSA, or eliminating the inept and unconstitutional agency altogether.

Napolitano further stated, “I think if you look at the combination of the effect on [the Department of Homeland Security], the Department of Justice and the Department of Defense, we are having real impacts on the robustness of our defensive posture.”

In reality, such budget cuts would never affect Homeland Security’s Continuity of Government programs (aided by secret, untouchable black budget funds). However, the cuts could be used as a pretext to punish travelers with increased wait times, slower travel, delayed flights and stifled free movement across the nation.

The invasive practices of the TSA have already triggered a severe decline in travel industry business, with many Americans and international visitors refusing to undergo the humiliating treatment supposedly conducted to stop would-be terrorists.

Clearly, this is yet another episode of shameless fear-mongering to protect the embryonic occupation government that Homeland Security, erected under the spectrum of 9/11 fear, represents.
