IntraBuilder is JavaScript (with extensions) based. Considering that IntraBuilder is an important part of BORL's business I think we should not say BORL "has no reason to get into the Javascript business". In an ancillary way (!) they are already there.

Don't think BORL should get into the Web Browser business. Basically BORL should continue their current focus and not get sidetracked with building browsers etc. Besides MSFT is aggressively going after that business and I do not want to wake the sleeping giant. BORL will be at Microsoft's side at Internet World and that's the way I like it. If you can't beat 'em join 'em... But do it with better, more productive tools...

I mean, why not complain because Borland doesn't have a Web browser, and that's a huge licensing opportunity they are missing out on?

And why not complain about their failure to farm out their support services to other products, say, those 800 numbers on the side of family-sized Coolwhip containers? The point is that if JavaScript is going to evolve into the de facto standard scripting tool for Java which can be seemlessly integrated into the core development environment, then they should not be punting on this. The fact is, scripting tools should not be an OPTION for SERIOUS development environments and/or end-user systems.
