Manufacturers are designing CNG big diesel rigs.

Well.. they won't be "diesel".. but I understand what you're trying to say..

And it's true.. During my travels in Thailand, it was not uncommon to see cement trucks with a rack of 8-10 CNG tanks.. And all the taxis in Bangkok seemed to run on CNG.. It's that much cheaper for them..

I have one CNG play that I think is (finally) a sure winner in this market. The primary problem with CNG are the weight, and capacity of their storage tanks.. Additionally, there's the question of safety.

Much maligned (and deservedly so over the past few years) Quantum Fuel Systems (QTWW) has a carbon fiber fuel tank that was originally designed for hydrogen/fuel cell markets.. They designed these tanks to be capable of holding 10,000 psi.. and still remain bullet proof up to .30 cal ball ammunition.

The promise of hydrogen has not yet been born out.... but gases are gases (within reason).. and they all are stored in the same manner..

So QTWW (finally) has decided to focus primarily on this marketplace and they are seeing a tremendous increase in orders for their tanks, which are 70% lighter than other storage options.

I'm a big believer in CNG.. especially in a "balloon goes up" (war) environment where gasoline/diesel will be needed for national defense purposes. And I think QTWW, has finally gotten rid of rotten management, and is making the right decisions.

Still speculative at this point, so risk capital only.. But I like what I'm seeing.. (finally)...

(Edit: While I don't currently own it, I also like Capstone Turbine (CPST) as a NG alternative energy play..)

Hi Bob, This is one of the best posts I have ever seen you write........It's brilliant. Extremely concise and you simply real off the bullets points and connect the dots........ and I'm quite serious.

You hit the nail on the head when you point out that Eagle Ford has superior pipeline structure already in place.... My brother and I have a couple of friends from Memorial high school in Houston who are free lance
"Landmen" you go out to these tiny towns with dusty old county offices where the deeds of land and mineral rights on different tracks of property are in these old ledgers and old files..... It's like going back in time....nothing computerized and but it's amazing how much they can make by going out for the week via small plane...... staying in a classic old time Texas town.... a time warp little motel and ferret out the info. and then provide it to the big energy firms.

and they come home for the weekend. maybe take a week or so off. and then go back to the gold mine and pull out a few more nuggets. And it's the type of thing were you have to look like and be able to Talk the Texan dialect which restricts who can do it.... Everyone saw the pictures of the firefighters who were killed in the Town of West, Texas in the fertilizer explosion last week....... ( yes this is code for something you and I know and have talked about.... a wee bit via pm).

John
