Yeah, that's funny. The Feds must have reasoned that spanking the masochist would teach them a lesson. Crime and punishment isn't what it used to be. The term ORRI holders are under mounting pressure to yield ground. Even the Judge is doing his bit by teasing them with his hypotheticals and impeccable logic. He's a very smart guy, and they have no convincing answers. He's more or less threatening to do the unthinkable if they can't show him some case law that he's pretty sure doesn't exist. Will they hold, or will they fold? That is the question.

I surely admire the ability of the lawyers to say in 20 pages what a lesser writer would say in five, 'specially since they're being paid by the word.
