You cannot engage them in intelligent debate. Look at how Alighieri responded to you by calling you a "conspiracy theorist." I have a cardinal rule that I will attempt to debate someone who is apparently left of me, until he/she resorts to name calling, or jumping to unfounded personal conclusions. That tactic is, unfortunately, in common use by the left, since their arguments don't hold up to scrutiny so they often resort to personal attacks as a last resort. Apologies for repeating the information in your old post. I hadn't seen it.
