You use hyperbole and fantasy to make your point, which dilutes a nice reasonable stance and post. Why do we need machine guns to kill deer? You know this statement is false. "Machine guns" and "assault weapons" are outlawed since 1934 and 1968. Yes, a normal citizen can still purchase a small amount of grandfathered machine guns and assault weapons but they are very expensive and tracked by the Feds including the Right for an annual inspection of the weapon and the storage of said weapon. The main problem with Manchin Toomey is that it listed specific Federal agencies that could not create a registration list of gun owners. As slimy as the Dems are, especially the anti-gun boigots in this admin, they would use those loopholes to create a registry under a different agency. The law should have said no registry, ever, by anyone. I am glad it defeated because in the form it was offered, there were legal ways for the gov't to restrict guns. The Senate was correct in defeating the law. 10s of millions of gun owners against the best trained army numbering in the hundreds of thousands. I think you might be surprised at the actual outcome. I do my civic duty every election. This guy was a trainwreck from the get go, from his absolutely no background and no qualifications, to his elitist snobbery, to his hatred of America. I would never have voted for him and I would never vote for him. He is a petulant child and bully. The fewer guns on the street, the less violence we'll see. Not ture. The less gun violence we will see is the only true statement that can be made. Obama has destroyed more than habeus corpus. He is a sad, sad choice to lead what was the greatest country in the world.
