Re: WDC

I dont know what to tell you as I am holding a bunch of SEG shares with an average share price of around $40 (current price is at $22-$23)! Disk drive makers are beaten down badly. SEG, WDC and QNTM are all dirt cheap. WDC is perhaps the cheapest of them all with a P/S of around 0.35 and a price to book value of around 2 (this is unheard of with a high tech company. The same goes for SEG and QNTM. But it seems what drives the prices of these stocks is the perception! It appears any company that somehow is into storage is getting hit big time.

So to summarize: I do not know!! I want to buy more of SEG to average down but am afraid the perception will drive the stock to even lower P/Es. However my expreince has been that with such ridiculously low price to sale ratios, a stock does not have too much downside risk. So maybe disk drive makers are at their lows. I personally wont be buying any right now (mainly because I am out of cash till January), and I think the end year tax write off is still going on (through the end of next week) so we may see disk drive makers even a little lower than what they are now (perhaps another 5-10% lower).
