Costco had a big sign at each offering of privatized booze that showed the breakdown of prices of taxes and product.

The state has no business trying to conceal the truth.

Happened in WA, so the legislature jacked the taxes something fierce.

Nobody in my town does that.

shoppers get a shock when the outlandish state vigorish is added at checkout.

It would certainly stir some controversy if one liquor store advertised their price and then added back the tax levy. Consumers might perceive it as a bait and switch.

Does it cost over a dollar a gallon to make liquor? Isn't almost all of the cost in taxes?
