Exactly. The entire concept of "buying and holding" is, IMHO, pure BS.

Where the fuzzy "buy and hold" concept originated, I'm not quite sure, although I suspect it originated from studies supposedly showing it works on a mass scale, but not necessarily at the individual, one-on-one, rubber-meets-the-road, stock level.

Every time I see a suggestion to "buy and hold", I cringe.
