"; I think you're generally right in this, most climatologists and scientists in general are lefties, but probably more like 80% or so. And of course the reason that the collapse of global warming hasn't been more widely trumpeted is because it would be against the political advantage of that 80% of climatologists and scientists. Nevertheless, the evidence is leaking out rather rapidly. The latest hiding place is to claim that the heat that should be warming up the atmosphere actually warmed up the oceans instead. Even if you accept this as true (and the oceans are very big and difficult to measure temperature sufficiently accurately), the implication is that 15 years ago the climatologists were just wrong when they were saying that the science is "settled". And their certainty then is pretty good evidence that we should not trust their certainty now. -- Carl P.S. Whenever an old paradigm dies there are always a few people who keep believing it. In this case, look around you. How many countries are pushing for the Kyoto agreement? Is anybody really going to any effort to cut back on carbon dioxide production? Obama is spending (uselessly wasting) political capital on getting guns banned while ignoring global warming as an issue. What do you think his very intelligent advisers are telling him? That now is the time for him to become famous forever as the leader who saved the earth from destruction? Or that global warming is dead and he should avoid it like the plague? Germany and Japan were once a big proponents of catastrophic global warming. Now they're building as many coal burning power plants as they can: Coal-fired power plants making Europeans sick, report says Germany, which along with Poland and Romania, account for almost half the health bill, is relaunching coal-fired plants following its decision to shut down nuclear reactors.phys.org Japan Turns Back to Coal Fired Power Plants At present, it can take up to four years for approvals for new plants to be processed. According to Japanese media reports, the government intends to make 12 months the maximum period for assessing and approving new coal-fired power plants as its utilities seek to develop more power stations to stem surging energy supply bills.energytribune.com No, global warming alarmism is over. The people still pushing it are either connected into old positions that would be intensely embarrassing to retract or they're just not well enough acquainted with modern data to understand what is going on. Don't expect the mass media to tell you about this, they're far more leftist than the scientists. When they finally start reporting on it, they will be blaming the whole episode of bad science on corporate interests and Republicans, LOL.
