It's more than that. He wanted to tell us how liberals (us, in other words) think we are centrist. That's crap. I've never thought I was centrist, and have said so- and I think most people here know they aren't anywhere near centrist. So when I see that kind of strawman crap, and then see more of it coming, I know we can't have that person here. People rarely agree with Steve, but he isn't usually obnoxious, and he isn't classically right wing. Our little "centrist" visitor may think he is center- but he quacks like the right, for the most part.

I doubt he could have found anyone to talk with. It's fairly rare, at least in my experience, to meet an ideological centrist, one who does like all ideologues do which is to make certain reality fits his perceptions of it. Perhaps that's the future. All political conversations become hurling stuff back and forth across ideological lines. Let's hope not.
