well we had an assault weapon ban also from 1996 if i remember correctly but of course it wasn't renewed under the administration of the war-monger and economy-wrecker brush-clearer in charge

another thing about Australia is they don't seem to have the amount of religious right wing nut jobs that we have here in America... in fact I believe their prime minister has said she is an atheist if i remember correctly... can you imagine someone getting elected here POTUS claiming to be an atheist?
