Somehow, I don't think TPTB are gonna go after 10's of million of gun owners all at once. More like Watertown... 9000 of them in one small town after another. If it comes to conflict, the odds of beating them are non-existant. It would be bloody, and it would, how can I put it delicately, be bad for the economy, but the government will not be overthrown by force of arms. If it comes to tyranny, the government will be beaten by Gandhi and Joan Baez, not George Washington and Davy Johngalt Crockett. Eventually, trigger fingers will tire and killing spirits will flag, and we win.

I don't cast myself in that light. I was only stating that to discount the amount of people who own guns versus the active military is a mistake. Do you watch the wars overseas? Do you see the difficulty we have maintaining order over there? I think we would restrict some of the weapons we use over there if a large civil unrest were to occur here. Therefore numbers of small arms users matters a great deal. It will not be the cakewalk he projects if a civil war erupts. And why did you bring race into this discussion? I did not. I was not even talking as a prepper. The people on this thread absolutely must cast people in prefit molds. Just because I do not like the Liberal opinion does not make me a right wing zealot. It seems that people on this thread cannot process that idea. There are people who genuinely do not like the ideas put forth from the left. I don't hate the people who spew them, I heartily disagree with them.
