Also heard the Eagles Ertz also as BIG sized WR, so he can line up even as WR:) Here is report on DT/DE Logan.Follows Kelly Law "Big People Beat Little People"

With the 5th overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have selected DT Bennie Logan out of LSU.

Logan is a big, strong guy at 6-2, 310 who did 30 reps on the bench at the combine. He's got long 34 inch arms and projects to fit well as a 3 tech DE in the Eagles new 3-4 look. Remember when Chip Kelly said "big people beat up little people?" Well here you go.

The general consensus on Logan is that he's a guy with first round talent, but has been inconsistent and has yet to put together a dominant season. Now, the bottom of NFL rosters are littered with guys like that so it's no guarantee he'll unlock that potential, but it is at least good to know the upside is there.

Logan wore the historic #18 jersey at LSU, which is given to the guy who best exemplifies what it means "to be a Tiger on and off the field." So it would seem he's a high character guy with a strong work ethic.

Interestingly enough, he's drawn comparisons to former Eagles DT Brodrick Bunkley.

Here's an insider scouting report from our LSU blog, And the Valley Shook.

Logan is a well-balanced tackle with enough strength to play the run and the quickness to push the pocket. Projects as a three-technique DT in a 4-3 scheme, though some have speculated that he could possibly play the nose in a one-gap scheme such as the Tampa-Two or Wade Phillips' style of 3-4. Logan is a hard worker that should be able to step into a rotation early, but not as a starter. Still, he has the ability to get to that point in time, and should be off the draft board in the first three rounds.

Mike i like the Barkley Pick, they grabbed him on Best Value pick in 4th round and only gave up a 7th round pick to get to first pick in 4th round, because they were next to 100% positive KC Or Raiders were going take him. Now with 3 prime QBs and Dixon they have trade value plus injury protection. It is luxury to have thee prime prospects and the unknown factor of Dixon(except he was Kelly's QB at Oregon)--we don't need worry about are future at QB. Both Barkley and Foles can be a franchise QB by next year. Its better to be overloaded at QB.
Kelly interview , he was emphatic he likes Barkley. Barkley was expected to go in 1st or 2nd round.
News K.C was NOT going to pick Barkley(They were going to pick Nico Johson. That Raiders traded down on their pick(they had 3rd pick in 4th traded down to 15th in 4th round), i am sure Raiders were going to take Barkley

Poor Raiders NYG traded up ahead of Raiders and grabbed QB Ryan Nassib what was very like their targetted pic-Raiders at 15 did pick QB Tyler Wilson. Max.

Love this quote/ Barkley quote just now "i am going to remember these last two days and so are all the teams that didn't draft me" That's attitude:)

Kelly just said "They had several off-the-charts interviews with players and they are pleased we got two of them :Matt barkley and Bennie Logan"
He also said they had Barkley rated within their top 50 players available(he didn't say where in the 50)--he was just excellent value at 98. He says he loves having 4QBs(Vick/Foles/Barkley And Dixon) fight it out.
BTW Barkley is like Foles, he is not viewed as a running QB.
But Kelly says he can adapt/ don't think i can't. Max

SB Nation Draft Grades For NFC-EAST Teams. Redskins worst Giants best Eagles And Cowboy Tied: These are always subject to revision come the end Football Season. With Eagles free agenct action i gave an A--but secondary where Kelly Need succeed is obring resp[ectabilty to secondary after a huge failure--FS so worrisome that some are their Fifth round pick(Earl Wolf could be the starter(He was first team all ACC FS..)

One outlets grade scores
On Friday night in the second and third rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft, the NFC East teams decided to get offensive.
Other than the New York Giants, who took two defensive athletes, the other three organizations went primarily on the notion that scoring points wins games. All told, three tight ends were selected on Friday in this pass-happy division, adding to a group that already includes Jason Witten and Brent Celek.

Dallas Cowboys: B+Dallas got its night going by taking San Diego State tight end Gavin Escobar47th overall. Escobar is a very talented player who can separate from defenders and bring the ball in with excellent hands. Along with Witten, the tandem could be devastating. NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock loves the selection.

In the third round, the Cowboys took Baylor wide receiver Terrance Williams and Georgia Southern safety J.J. Wilcox. Williams is a large-bodied receiver who can make plays but hasn't always shown great speed. Wilcox is somewhat of an unknown from such a small school, but he also gets the Mayock seal of approval.

New York Giants: A-General manager Jerry Reese always has a plan. This year he went with the big uglies in the trenches.

Reese took Ohio State defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and defensive end Damontre Moore of Texas A&M in the second and third rounds, respectively. Hankins is massive at 320 pounds and can stuff the middle with the best of them. CBS Sports analyst Pete Prisco completely agrees.

Moore was thought of a top-five pick only a few months ago but after some brutal combine numbers he slipped badly. However, the upside is there to make Moore an absolute steal at 81st overall.

Philadelphia Eagles: B+Philadelphia added to its offense by taking the second-best tight end in Stanford's Zach Ertz. Ertz has tremendous route-running ability and should fit in nicely with Celek in Chip Kelly' offense(and that idea of Ertz at W.R--excites:).

In the third round, the Eagles took Bennie Logan, a defensive tackle from LSU. Logan is a man who can clog up the middle, giving Philadelphia's suspect linebackers time to make plays. Prisco couldn't love this pick anymore than he does.(Prisco wrote " Eagles select: Bennie Logan, DT, LSU A gradeThis is one of the biggest steals of the draft. Logan is a productive player who will be better on the next level. Love this pick.-- Kelly said Logan's interview was "off-the--charts; He's smart /a leader with super work ethic.(Kiper said if he stayed another year at LSU he'd likely be a first round pick) Regards Foles and Barkley/ they it will be a battle:They i think 2 more years in terms of contract with Foles so thry play this out; Hopefully both impress so one can get solod value in return in a trade--it will be impossble too keep both; The Eagles will have release several QGs--Kinne is gone and Dixon must impress--Dixon the real wild card--he did Quite well in CFL. He doesn't really impress he likely will return to CFL, rather go to practice squad.--problem is he could make an ideal back up QB he makes up QB matter complex. At this point Barkley will the #3 QB.

Washington Redskins: B-Washington had a somewhat puzzling draft. In the second round the Redskins took corner David Amerson from N.C. State before nabbing Jordan Reedfrom Florida in the third.

Amerson didn't appear to be the best corner available at the time and has a good chance of being a bust after a merely senior season. Mayock seems to believe Amerson could be a stud if things break right.

Reed is a solid pick, giving Washington another weapon in the middle of the field. Many look at Reed as Aaron Hernandez lite, and that could be an apt description at 6'2 and 235 pounds. Prisco believes he'll work out.
