That is just plain silly. The PEW poll asked the wrong question. MSNBC blends facts and opinions, but gets the facts correct. FOX seldom gets them correct. It doesn't do you much good to do research without someone to explain the conversation and context. And when you do do research it always comes back to someone's opinion of the facts.

Of course they are opinions on MSNBC. The opinons of the smartest people on the planet. MSNBC has become a think tank. Program after program has the smartest people in the country dissecting the issues of our democracy and culture in the most sophisticated manner. It is like sitting in a university class.

The problem with the news of past times is facts do not usually tell the story. There has to be facts put in their relative context.

E.g. Chris Hays folks are drilling down to the bedrock of ideas with monster sophistication, just like our founding father did when they formed this nation.

FOX is just fools trying to do the same thing, but failing.

The US did so well because the framers of our country were the most educated people in the nation.

Everyone knows FOX is filled with fools and liars.

And all smart people know that MSNBC is filled with the most honest and smartest people we have ever had on TV. It is Charlie Rose and Bill Moyers on steroids and just what we needed!!

<<Pew research disagrees with your opinion. The absolute statement of course is false...I personally believe all news reporting is opinionated and when I am interested in knowing more facts, I do additional searches of news or information to satisfy my interest.

Way to go. For folks like you, the Internet has empowered you to do so. But as it happens always, with every use, there is a lot of abuse also by way of slanted reporting.

As far as the news is concerned, in the '40's and '50's when journalist majors were asked why they wanted to be reporters, their reply was "I want to report the news." When you ask a modern journalist why, their reply is "I want to make the news."
Almost all news organizations and reports now days have a personal agenda they strive to push by slanting their take on the news. The same for "surveys" that are reported. Not sure if many here have ever participated in any, but most of the questions are slanted to receive the desired responses. For example, one to promote gun may be worded like "Are you against the gun violence that caused recent massacres?" If you reply yes to that, they can take it as if you are pro gun control. Kind of like the "how long ago did you stop beating your wife" type questions.
Personally, as far as news goes I try to look at many different venues (including Al Jazeera) to get a perspective on things. Just remember...these days there really IS no such thing as "fair and balanced" news, no matter where you live or what you watch.
