I would say we were both, wrong and naive to the maximum I know exactly when we lost: When, maybe fifteen years ago, my step-grandson told me the only thing Warren Harding ever did was sign a treaty, so was useless. As was his silent successor. And I didn't correct him. Same thing in the late '70's when a niece's civics text appalled me. And I said nothing. America was sold out in small increments while those who should have known better acquiesced by silence. I don't think we realized what was a-building.

I believed the blacks were not going to vote and flood the polls as the "experts" incorrectly predicted..........Naive is a good word for us. I prefer STOOPID!
