Now I hope you have the ability to rectify them! Logical thought-as well as a law of physics. An object at rest tends to stay at rest. An inanimate object is incapable of independent unguided actions. Very simple. A gun is an inanimate object, incapable of independent action absent human interaction. To ignore the fact that it takes a person to pick up the gun and do something with it is just plain illogical. Its like having a fever from an infection and only treating the fever and not the cause of it. You may get some temporary relief from treating the fever, but it will come back, and worse than ever, until you actually treat the infection. I take it you are one of those who advocates banning of all firearms, or at least putting such severe restrictions on them that it is virtually impossible to be a gun owner. Probably also think that handguns are only for killing people. (Actually, less than 200ths of one percent (0.02%) of all handguns in the US have been used in crimes.) Studies from many major Universities (Duke and Harvard among them) all say the same thing. Gun control is a worthless strategy. would offer no safety, and in fact would have the propensity to cause an increase in violent crime upon an unarmed public . You once again side-stepped Switzerland-where virtually every adult male is required to own a military weapon. And yet they have virtually no gun crimes. Are you saying this isn't true? Or just refusing to acknowledge the fact that guns there don't kill people? If guns actually DID kill people, Switzerland should be completely depopulated by now, according to your theory, since they have all of those people with fully automatic machine guns in their homes. So, once again it all boils down to society...and my previous post. Anything else you say from this point on can only be along the lines of "nuh uh!", "just because" or similar typical Left-wing rhetoric. If you have actual tangible proof (other than warm fuzzy wuzzy feelings) please post it. By the way, I do not currently own a gun. I have kids from a previous marriage who stay with me every other weekend, and one of those is my autistic son who is extremely interested in guns...but does not have the ability to recognize right from wrong or learn true gun safety. As a responsible parent, I will not have one in my home because of that.
