you are misinformed about who is coming over our borders illegally. We have stopped over 1000 each iranians, syrians, saudi arabians in the past 10 years. In fact, we have caught 30,000 individuals in the past 10 years from muslim countries who have strong ties to terrorism, who have tried to come into this country illegally. Many of these have tried to come over the southern border. And it would be a mistake to discount the narco-terrorists that live just south of much of the southern border. They may be an even greater threat to our security.

But the reason to secure our southern border really is about economics. It has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with millions of people in this country who do drain our resources. They receive government benefits, they send large portions of their earnings "back home" instead of reinvesting/spending here in the states and in many cases, do not pay taxes.

I do think that it is a mistake to only talk about the southern border, we need to put a moratorium on immigration for a while until our economic situation is a little more stable. As a side benefit, it will cut down on the number of immigrants who may harbor ill will toward the U.S.

I find Montana and Nevada and etc having Spanish names meaningless.

There were Mexicans living in TX, NM, and California a long time before those places became part of the US, but not very many of them. If those places were still part of Mexico all it would mean for Mexicans is they'd have to travel farther to get to America.

Well said. If the GOP does not act quickly and embrace the Latino vote it is going to be Hilldebeest perched in the oval office.
