Yes, the media constantly told us that Bush "squandered the Clinton surplus". But then this is the same media that was caught fabricating "evidence" that Bush went AWOL, as well as many other things to purposely slant things to the Left advantage. If you do the research, you will find in the charts the fact that the United States was already well along the slide into deficit, and as a result of the reversal of many of Ronald Reagan's economic policies we were going to go farther in debt regardless-whether it was Bush or Micky Mouse who was elected.
