I'm actually feeling a bit optimistic about the next few elections. IMO, Obamacare is going to devolve into a complete fiasco before the 2014 elections, and the Dems are going to take the hit. That will be the biggie that will turn a lot of Dem voters against their own party.

I see the GOP not only holding the House, but taking the Senate as well. That is, if they bring the A Team. The GOP has a habit of nominating less than ideal (to put it mildly) candidates on occasion.

As for 2016 and the White House, time will tell...
